The Faculty of Science is one of the most broadly based scientific academic concentrations in Australasia, with major foci in agricultural sciences, animal and veterinary sciences, environmental sciences, allied health, medical sciences, dentistry and health sciences, wine science, and nursing.

The Faculty administration is based on the Wagga Wagga, New South Wales campus, in James Hagan Court (Building 475), Room 222.

James Ruse Agricultural High School is set in a district rich in colonial history and overlooks the area where James Ruse first grew wheat successfully in Australia. This selective co-educational high school provides metropolitan students with the opportunity to study practical and theoretical agriculture as part of their secondary school studies, for which the grounds and farm are admirably suited. Located in Carlingford in north west Sydney, the school is surrounded by a 5 hectare farm on which students raise a variety of produce including stud Angus cattle.

The school provides a caring environment in which the pursuit of excellence is complemented by the development of self esteem through achievement. Tocal is situated in the picturesque Hunter Valley about 180 km north of Sydney. It provides a unique blend of agricultural training and practical experience for school leavers and other people who may be interested in rewarding careers in agriculture.

Tocal is a part of the New South Wales Department of Agriculture, Australia and is a leader in full and part time agricultural courses, short courses and distance education.

Tocal courses are renowned Australia-wide for its practical training, development of industry-relevant skills and experience in general agriculture, beef cattle, dairying, rural business management, sheep production, cropping and conservation and land management.

As well as extensive training facilities, Tocal provides a supportive environment for students. Student facilities include indoor sports and social venues, single bedroom or motel style units, swimming pool, football oval, tennis courts, student shop and a well equipped library. Students are also involved in local sporting competitions and numerous community activities.

Tocal offers a unique experience in the great outdoors and a caring approach to individual and team learning.

Established in 1922, Yanco Agricultural High School enjoys a rich history in quality education, diverse learning opportunities and excellent educational outcomes. With our state-of-the-art resources, farm and hostel, we are able to provide an all round education for students in a stimulating and caring environment.

As the only fully-residential government high school in New South Wales, we provide a unique education experience with an extensive 7 - 12 agricultural focus. Within this environment, students both learn and mature by taking on the responsibilities of their own self discipline and care for others.

NSW Agriculture’s Yanco Agricultural Institute (YAI) is a Centre of Excellence dedicated to assisting agricultural industries and rural communities through research, extension, regulation and education. YAI is working to promote the sustainable production of rice, to improve horticultural production, to facilitate efficient irrigation management, to provide appropriate extension and regulatory services to industry, and to deliver education and training programs for the food and fibre industries.
