The College is a private not-for-profit Company. It is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in NSW and is an accredited senior school for delivery of the NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC).
The Hunter Trade College operates at its new purpose built facilities at Maitland (Telarah).
Students are selected on their aptitude and desire to commence trade training in Years 11 and 12. There is an equal emphasis on the completion by all students of a Higher School Certificate (HSC) as they commence their trade training. During this training students are provided with workplace mentoring, ongoing work and study assistance with an emphasis on employability skills.
The Hunter Trade College staff have considerable experience in industry and schools. Teaching staff are trades qualified.
