Education NSW introduces Macquarie Conservatorium Of Music in Dubbo, for all your education and learning needs.

The Macquarie Conservatorium of Music is a non-profit community organisation which is committed to providing quality community-based, affordable music education throughout Dubbo and the Orana region.

A member of the Association of NSW Regional Conservatoriums, the Conservatorium, formerly known as the Orana School of Music, was established in 1987. Initially based in a small building in Depot Road Dubbo, the Orana School of Music, which was renamed the Macquarie Conservatorium of Music in late 1996, relocated to its current facilities on the corner of Darling and Bultje Streets Dubbo in 2003. Since moving into the current premises, enrolments have more than doubled and are continuing to grow.

Macquarie Conservatorium caters for students of all ages, providing music tuition in a wide range of instruments, voice, theory, musicianship, music craft and Early Childhood Music

Individual and group lessons are available and opportunities exist to perform in ensembles and concerts. In addition to face-to-face lessons, tuition via video conferencing is also available, providing access to music education for students in remote areas. Access to teachers of instruments, levels or styles currently not available in Dubbo is also made possible through video conferencing.

In addition to the tuition offered on-site at the Conservatorium, group and individual lessons are offered at numerous schools within Dubbo and the surrounding region. Conservatorium staff also direct bands and ensembles at various schools and in the community.

Each year the Conservatorium presents numerous concerts which are open to the public including the Annual Winter Gala Concert proudly supported by the Dubbo Masonic Association and masoniCare, the Annual Presentation and Showcase Evening and, as of 2009, the annual concert series. The concerts showcase visiting and community musicians as well as staff and students from the Conservatorium.

Our teaching is supported by workshops, master classes and concerts presented by visiting artists.
